About the writer:
Amalia Gouvitsa Balch was born in Patras, Greece in 1950.
She stayed at Patras Orphanage and a foster home till the age of five years old. She was adopted in the U.S. and grew up in Los Angeles. She lived in many states such as Alaska, Texas, and Colorado.
Amalia completed her studies as an Executive Assistant and has worked as an organizer in Religious and Pilgrimage Tourism (Trinity Broadcasting Network-U.S). She was the president of SEASYP Patras (Association for Discovery of Illegally Adopted Children, 1994-1996).
She is married to Richard, in Mesa, Arizona where she resides with her son and grandchildren.
She likes working with crafts, and music. She plays both the piano and the harmonium.
She appeared as a writer with her book “The Lost Child of Greece” (Mennonite Press Inc. U.S-2021).
“My Mother’s Eyes” (Weaving Waves Publications-Greece-2023) is her first book published in Greek.
